This 135 acre parcel, with an 88,000 square foot existing building, located in the Almaden Valley area of San Jose, California was an IBM Corp. think tank/office until 1990. The Riding Company successfully rezoned the site for 188 detached single-family homes with three lot sizes (3,000 sq. ft., 4,000 sp. ft. and 7,000 sq. ft.) and three different house types. Three different product types were utilized to meet the demands of the city of San Jose and the immediate neighborhood. The homes ranged from 1,800 - 3,300 square feet in three, four and five bedroom models and were concentrated on a 32 acre portion of the 135 acres site, leaving 103 acres in pristine hillside oak woodlands as a private park for the homeowners.
